Types and Benefits of Office Partitions

Many businesses all around the world use partitions. They provide privacy to employees as well as a quick and easy way to alter the workspace in order to fit expansion in future. They are also less expensive compared to creating permanent walls. There is modern partitioning that can be bought and installed within a very short time and can last longer. Office partitions are available in many types, including portable partitions and glass partitions. The former provide more light to a workspace while the latter can be changed or moved around in no time.

Floor-to-ceiling partitions

These dividers are used in many offices in order to break up workspaces. They are sometimes referred to as 'full height' partitions but they actually do not enclose workers fully nor do they stop visibility in the office. They are mainly made out of metal and the frame is covered with cloth. Floor-to-ceiling partitions may be rearranged, moved from one location to the other or completely removed without any problem.

Glass partitions

Glass partitions are another type of office partitions. These partitions are typically made out of glass and aluminium with a frame and sometimes without. Glass partitions come in half or full-height panels, and generally venetian blinds are installed to offer some kind of privacy to a workspace. Glass partitions help reduce noise and also allow light to flow throughout the whole workspace. The prices of glass partitions vary according to the framing, type of glass, as well as other desired options.

Cubicles

The most common and basic office dividers are cubicles. Sometimes they are also called 'half eight' partitions and offer some privacy. They are also convenient in that you can quickly change the configuration of the workspace by moving the walls of the cubicles. Cubicles are normally installed so that there are 4 walls and an opening that people can use to enter and exit. Generally, the fourth wall is a half-wall. Inside the cubicle, the workspace usually comprises a work desk, computer space and related software as well as a filing system.

Portable office partitions

These types of partitions are usually on rollers and may be quickly moved from place to place. Portable office partitions provide the least permanent solution for offices and typically provide very little privacy and noise reduction.

Accordion walls

Accordion walls are a type of office partitions similar to portable partitions as they can quickly be moved from one place to another. These office partitions provide full enclosure just like floor-to-ceiling partitions. However, they can be arranged and opened in many different setups either by closing them in or folding out the panels.

Benefits of office partitions

Office partitions can offer many benefits in the workplace. They provide privacy to employees, allowing them to be comfortable while they work. They also divide space between employees so that each member of staff can have their own personal space. Furthermore, they are easy to install and create very little mess as there's no need for things such as paint and other wet materials. They also come in a wide variety of designs as well as privacy requirements.

Make sure you choose office partitions wisely because they can save a lot of your space and money.
